ABOUT PROJECT CLARET
Project Claret exists to translate and publish the Spanish and Catalan texts of Saint Anthony Mary Claret in English. Its purpose is simple: to help more readers encounter his writings directly.
Saint Anthony Mary Claret
Born in Sallent, Catalonia, in 1807, Anthony Mary Claret was a missionary, writer, and Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba. He founded the Claretian Missionaries in 1849 and devoted much of his life to preaching and publishing. He died in 1870 and was canonized in 1950.
The work of translation
The project’s aim is to preserve the meaning of the original texts while offering clear, readable English. Published editions will identify their source language and include relevant editorial information.
